Applying to College

There is lots to consider when applying to college. View the College Application Deadlines for information on where to apply and application deadlines.

UC Applications are available at www.universityofcalifornia.edu/apply.

CSU Applications are available at www.csumentor.edu.

When applying to Private or Out of State colleges and universities, it is important to be aware of their specific requirements and application process.  Many of these colleges use the Common Application.  Students will need letters for recommendations from teachers and a counselor, so please plan ahead (at least 2 weeks before your application is to be mailed).  Private and out of state colleges and universities often request a School Profile that highlights information about Social Justice Leadership Academy.  

Teachers and counselors will want to write the best recommendation letter possible, so please complete a Brag Sheet (which can be picked up at the College Center). 

Application deadlines are quickly approaching.  Many colleges have deadlines in January, during Winter Break. To get your application materials to the colleges on time, be sure to have all requests for Secondary School Reports and Letters of Recommendation to counselors and teachers no later than December 2.

For any requests made after this date, counselors and teachers cannot guarantee that materials will be completed and sent on time, by the application deadlines. PLAN AHEAD!!
